Vandana Venkatesh

Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Verizon

Vandana Venkatesh is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Verizon. In this role, Ms. Venkatesh is responsible for advising the company on IT and Supply Chain/Sourcing matters. In this role, she leads a team of attorneys who work on vendor agreements supporting approximately $30B in annual spend, as well as issues relating to outsourcing and IT global operations, and information security issues.

She has held a number of positions within Verizon, and its predecessor companies, including GTE Internetworking and Genuity, supporting the company's Marketing, Network Operations, and Wholesale organizations. Before she joined Verizon, Ms. Venkatesh was an Associate at the law firms of Morse, Barnes-Browne, & Pendleton and Bingham McCutcheon where she was counsel to internet, high tech, and bio-tech start up ventures. Prior to her career in the law, Ms. Venkatesh was a Congressional Aide to Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA).

Ms. Venkatesh holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law School and a M.A. and B.A. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles.
