Two dynamic business leaders will be the principal speakers at Congress 2006 presented by the South Asian Women’s Leadership Forum on Saturday, February 25, 2006 in Manhattan. SAWLF is pleased to announce that Ms. Indra Nooyi, president and CFO for PepsiCo., Inc. will participate in an interactive segment with Ms. Meena Mansharamani, vice president for strategic initiatives at Pepsi-Cola North America.

This special segment will bring together two, leading-edge professionals for an engaging discussion that will highlight winning business strategies and practices as well as their individual experiences of challenge and achievement at one of the world’s best known and established consumer brands.

The South Asian Women’s Leadership Forum (SAWLF) is committed to the advancement of South Asian women in the marketplace. SAWLF provides educational programs and networking opportunities; conducts research; and offers outreach that supports the advancements and accomplishments of women at all stages of professional development.

  • Thirty-five individual events since inception (November 2002).
  • Features prominent South Asian women as speakers representing a broad spectrum of leadership and decision-making capacities.
  • Showcases issues that are important to women professionals as they continue their careers or re-enter the workforce.
  • Partners with internal/external experts and organizations such as Working Mother and Oxygen in order to ensure the visibility of South Asian women in mainstream media.
  • Conducts, and analyzes research on issues affecting South Asian women in the workplace.
  • VERTICAL SAWLF: A “peer network” of women facilitates professional achievement and career guidance for SAWLF participants representing law, public policy and finance.
  • Fosters opportunities for on-campus leadership roles for female students through mentorship and the SAWLF internship program.

Congress 2005: Advancing South Asian Women
The annual Congress brings together more than 300 participants to discuss the opportunities and challenges women address as they pursue lives and careers.
